Top 10 Mobile Phones 2010

In late  2008 I created a page showing my Top 10 Mobile Phones at the time and tried to keep this updated on a quarterly basis throughout the end of 2008 and all of 2009.

Now we are in March 2010 it is time to look at the latest mobile phone handsets again, make my new list of top 10 mobiles on all the major networks, and update the information.

This year I will also be compiling a list of top 10 business mobiles for small business users, including a dedicated page for T Mobile business contracts which will display all the latest business deals and latest T Mobile handsets.

Adding a Business to Google Maps

Over the weekend I set up new site to provide information about Adding a Business to Google Maps.

Although adding listing to google maps is free, it can still be a time consuming process for small business owners who are not to internet savvy, and if not set up correctly their listings may not appear how they would like them to.

As setting up a google maps listing now comes as 2nd nature to us it means we can provide a very competitive google maps set up service which saves the business time, gets their google maps listing set up quickly, and more importantly gets their google maps listing optimised so as to perform better.

For further information about our google maps set up service and our Google Maps Optimisation service please contact us at info@mapsoptimisation.co.uk or click on the screenshot below to visit our new site.

Storing Red Wine

The optimum temperature for serving Red wine is 17 degrees Celsius and the optimum temperature for storing red wine is 12 degrees celsius.

That is why the three temperature wine cabinets from Wine Storage Solutions are the ideal wine fridges for those serious about their red wines.

The 3 Temperature Transtherm models provide 3 different temperature zones, allowing 3 different functions  at the top, red wine at serving temperature. At the bottom, white wine & champagne at serving temperature. The large middle section is for long-term storage of all types of wine reds, whites and champagnes.

Free Online Advertising

When doing a search on google.co.uk for Free Online Advertising you will see this page in the list of top 10 Free Online Advertising websites. It fluctuates around, sometimes number 1 other times as low as number 5, but even when at number 5 it still attracts click throughs.

One of the reasons it still gets the click throughs when lower down the page is due to a nice descriptive meta description and a cleverly placed ★ symbol. This symbol draws the eye to the listing and the page title and meta description does the rest.

Another thing you may notice when searching for free online advertising is down at the bottom of the page google displays Blog posts about free online advertising which links though to a blog search for free online advertising.

Hence this post ;o)

Advertise For Free

Where can I advertise for free

The UK Small Business Directory provides free online advertising alongside a range of cost effective advertising plans which are designed to help small business owners increase their online presence.

Many people who look to advertise for free overlook the fact that they may spend a lot of time finding places to advertise, a lot of time setting up their advertising and they might not even see any benefits.

The smarter business owner may find it better looking for cost effective advertising which provides a good retun of investment.

Clear Books Online Accounting System

Clear Books is an online accounting system which has been designed  to make accounting clear, simple and easy for business owners.

Being an online software, easy to access anywhere and anytime, the system is really time-saving. On top of that  “Clear Books Start-up” package is completely free!

Small businesses will never have to pay to use the system providing they don’t exceed the usage limits.

Warwickshire Business Directory

I finally found a bit of time to create a new Warwickshire Business Directory over the weekend and over the next couple of days will be testing it out to ensure everything is running smoothly.

As with my main directory site it is built out of a combination of basic HTM, CSS and classis ASP. The back end is powered by a MySQL 5 database and it is divided in to business categories and Post towns in Warwickshire

I also set up a Recent Listings page and currently have it designed so that the top 10 recent listings are displayed on the home page.

Being South Warwickshire based myself I have initially given a bit of precedence to the South Warwickshire towns and set up individual directories like so;

Shipston on Stour Business Directory

Stratford-upon-Avon Business Directory

Wellesbourne Business Directory

Warwick Business Directory

Alcester Business Directory

Henley-in-Arden Business Directory

Kineton Business Directory

As the site grows, and new Warwickshire businesses sign up, I will also start concentrating on the other Warwickshire postal towns.

Carpenters in Rugby

Whilst tidying up one of my other websites I decided to add some more pages to my Rugby Business Directory It’s another of those litle web projects which I started but never finished and a lot of the pages have very little content on them.

The first thing I did was change the look of whole page and knock up a template which I could easily use for setting up new listings. I then created a new page for each building trade, eventualy ending up with 13 pages. With the 13 blank pages created I then added content to 5 main pages, these being;

Bricklayers in Rugby.

Carpenters in Rugby.

Painters in Rugby.

Plasterers in Rugby.

Carpenters in Rugby was the first page I did with the others based on this simple layout.

Over the next couple of days I will add content to the other pages then simply interling them together.

Large Conference Venues

One of the companies I do search engine optimisation for provide a specialist service for people who are looking for Large Conference Venues.

The landing page has been up for a while now, but due to the structure of the code it isn’t the easiest to optimise.

With this in mind I will probably be re-designing the whole page over the Christmas break and putting a  more search engine friendly navigation system in place.
