The History of C.T. Distribution Computer Technology was born in 1993 with the owner and our present managing director, building and servicing computers local to his home in Stone, Staffordshire. The only advertising was word of mouth and the Company took on small premises in Stone in the autumn of 1995. Attending the computer fairs on a regular basis, it soon became necessary to employ staff to cope with the demand. As the business flourished it soon outgrew the premises in Stone the decision made to relocate to Stoke-on Trent. Computer Technology had by now established itself as the main supplier of computers in the surrounding area producing 80-100 full systems a week via a production line of which quality control was a major factor to keep up to company standards. By the year 2000 the company was occupying no less than four industrial units on the Stoke site and was now one the biggest companies on the computer fair scene. With the massive growth in the trade supply area of the business the decision was taken to relocate again to what is now our distribution warehouse in Newcastle under Lyme some six miles from Stoke. This was much larger and modern premises able to service our customers more efficiently, with the additional benefit of better access via junction 16 of the M6 motorway. The summer of 2000 was a key stage in Company development and by now had been incorporated as Computer Technology Distribution Limited. Trading under the shortened name of C.T. Distribution the company goes from strength to strength having purchased the rights to the Ireland computer fairs and having a keen but realistic pricing structure. Such has been the success of C.T. that we have now opened a second retail shop at Osmaston Road in Derby, in the hands of its capable and motivated young manager we're confident that the Derby shop will help to carry us through many more successful years of company growth. Pricing Policy Our prices have been slowly but surely reducing compared to our competitors, for several years now and continues to do so to the present day. The most important thing in our view is that the company stays strong and healthy so it will still be trading for your continued support. The Managing Director is of the view that, with so many companies going out of business in our industry leaving a trail of destruction behind as far as returns etc. are concerned, it is better to deal with a company with a long established and reliable trading history which will save money in the longer term. Prices are competitive now and as our long term customers are aware we will not compromise the products just for price. If we continue on our present course C.T. Distribution will be a market leader in the computer industry by 2005. In short you cannot have it all ways, cheapest prices and full backup service with full returns department and not pay for it somewhere along the line. With the company now importing certain products of its own for example the CTD value range of cases our customers soon started to use them as their main case even though we did sell a cheaper case. The reason for this is reliability and a constant supply of the same goods backed up by our own warranty. This is one example of the advantage of trading with C.T. Distribution. Customer Service and Returns With our move in the late summer our returns service did suffer slightly which has now been rectified and will, by 1st March 2001, be one of the most efficient in the industry. Our customer care is paramount to our continued success and will support our trade customers with a free technical support and advise help line on products that have been purchased from us. Our Managing Director still remembers back in 1993 when help was needed and was difficult to come by and is determined to help wherever it is practical to do so. Due to abuse in the past, our returns department has simple rules like all returns having an RMA number, which is only a fax away. Once returned the problem will reach a conclusion within two working days, five working days at the very latest unless there are unforeseen circumstances like us not having stock.
