The Donkey Sanctuary Manchester
Manchester, Greater Manchester, M18 8RJ
The Donkey Sanctuary Manchester is the perfect place for animal lovers and families, providing visitors with the chance to meet our beautiful rescue donkeys, discover their unique characters and see first-hand how we care for these incredible animals. Founded in 1969 by Dr Elisabeth Svendsen MBE, The Donkey Sanctuary has grown into an international animal welfare charity that works tirelessly to protect donkeys and mules worldwide. Over the past 40 years the Sanctuary has provided more than 16,500 donkeys and mules with lifelong care in the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe. Our team of specially trained donkeys provides assisted therapy to hundreds of local school children with additional needs and disabilities. All sessions are tailored to ensure each child can learn, develop and have fun in our specially designed indoor arenas. Donkey assisted therapy offers emotional and physical benefits and helps to give children a real sense of achievement. While admission and parking is free, however, as a charity, donations are always welcome and will help support our vital work. Throughout the year we host a number of exciting events and can accommodate trips for larger groups. Please call or visit our website for more information. Our donkeys look forward to meeting you soon!

Cats At Home Visiting
Manchester, Greater Manchester, M28 3WS
Holidays are great for us humans, cats are different, they do not like disruption / changes to routine. Even the kindest people / nicest Cattery can be traumatic for our feline friends. The solution? Cat Care At Home Visiting, your much loved pets stay in their own familiar surrounding, safe at home, eating the food they are used to, sleeping where they always sleep, playing with their own toys! No marked vans calling to your home to tell the world that you are away, just a lady pensioner, popping in twice a day to:- Feed and water pets Clean and replenish litter trays Play/ talk to / groom/ check health of your pets Clean up any accidents Open/ close curtains/ blinds / Switch lights on/ off to make the house look occupied (as required) Put post out of sight Water houseplants Garden pots etc can be watered, extra charge. Phone with your holiday date, we will arrange a time for me to meet your pets, pick up keys and payment in full for all arranged visits, when you return home I expect a phone call to say that your pets are back in your care and to will arrange return of keys Cost of visits vary depending on mileage, M27/ 28 will be £7 per visit for 1/2 cats Extra cats/ other small ''furries'' £1 each per day, (ie 50p per visit) 2 visits per day exept on day of departure/ return depending on travel times Other small animals can be cared for ie Hamsters, Guinea Pigs, House Bunnies, Ferrets, etc Tropical and Cold water Fish, (Marine if you teach me how?) Sorry no dogs, or caged birds, they need company, no snakes or exotic reptiles as I have no knowledge of them.
