Counselling is a talking therapy. It offers someone to talk to, who is non-judgemental, and who will help you to make sense of and work through difficult emotions, behaviours, experiences and relationships. It looks at how previous experience can affect current thinking, feelings and behaviour.
Counselling can help you to discover yourself, and find hidden resilience and resources. It can help to support you through immediate crisis, or long term issues. You can talk about anything at counselling. Often people do not know why they come but recognise that they need to talk with someone.
Counselling can be from 6 weeks to open ended, and anywhere in between. The duration of the counselling is discussed at the first session and reviewed regularly throughout.
Each session is 50 minutes. Each session is once per week, Sessions are the same time and same day every week
Counselling is confidential. Confidentiality is vital in providing a free, safe and open environment where everything and anything can be discussed.
