Hyung Je Martial Arts was formed and operated by 2nd Degree black belt Amar Mashru and 2nd Degree black belt Neil Emerton to provide a positive, friendly, safe and professional training program primarily in Tae Kwon Do, one of the world’s most popular martial arts, for all ages and abilities from 5 years old and upwards. The club was established as an independent club, free of association membership which specialises in the more traditional I.T.F. (International Tae Kwon Do Federation) style of Tae Kwon Do developed by General Choi Hong Hi (1918-2002) and covers all aspects of training from Korean language and history, fitness and self defence, through to more technical work. Amar has been training in Tae Kwon Do for thirteen years and Neil has been training in Tae Kwon Do for 6 years. Both have been teaching for several years as fully qualified instructors. Hyung Je Martial Arts ensures that all instructors are fully qualified, CRB checked and first aid trained which ensures a high standard of instruction and safety throughout the organisation. We at Hyung Je Martial Arts pride ourselves on our family friendly atmosphere, running separate children’s and adult classes to cater for their individual requirements. Our club and also provides a positive, controlled social meeting environment for its teenage students. Our philosophy for the club to portray also mirrors the intention of Master Choi, the founder of Tae Kwon Do when he brought his martial art to the world. It does not matter what race, religion, creed nor your political or cultural differences may be, your training and its environment provide the platform to put those issues aside to create a place where students can train side by side as friends and colleagues.

The club currently offers numerous training sessions in Ashford Tuesday evenings, Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. If you are interested in learning traditional karate come along to a trial session and see what goes on. It’s free and you may enjoy it!!
