What is PAT testing and how does it effect your business? PAT testing (Portable Appliance Testing) is a specialist area in which a suitably trained and qualified electrical expert following the IEE Code of Practice use their skills and a range of specialist equipment to ascertain the safety of all equipment using electrical plugs, through carrying out a number of tests on each electrical appliance. Why should my electrical equipment be PAT tested? The `Electricity at Work` 1989 regulation made it legal necessity that "All electrical systems must be maintained".
