Rachel Pert Photography is an originally named business run by myself, Rachel Pert! I am a 27 year old mum of 2 and have been photographing professionally for a number of years but it has been a hobby of mine for a long time. As you''ll see by the nature of many of my photographs I am alternative and it reflects very heavily in my work! I have been an artist (painting and sculpting) for as long as I can remember so photography was a natural progression as it enables me to achieve things I am unable to do in other mediums. I can cite many influences from fetish photographers, fashion designers and musicians but I have particular artists I think influence me greatly. These include: Andy Warhol, Salvador Dali, HR Giger, Paul Klee and many others although they are mostly surrealists! I am a musician and have been all my life so am very interested in recording bands at work and in a reportage style. Over the years I have photographed weddings, gigs, fetish models, tattoos and tattooists, posed bands for promos, boudoir shoots and portraits but a lot of my work is flora and fauna and most of my portraits are of my children. I suppose these are the things I have access to the most! I would describe my style as unobtrusive and relaxed. I try to capture atmosphere as best I can and like to catch people off guard when taking portraits. I love the versatility of my work and the jobs I do and hope it continues for a long time to come.
