Bianca''s Dance Academy

Bianca''s Dance Academy was initially established in late 2003, with one ''Street Dance'' class at Rothley Village Hall for local children on a Saturday morning. Aged just 16, principal Miss Bianca had been dancing and performing since her early years and wanted to do something positive to promote and nurture the performing talent of children in her local area. The class went from strength to strength whilst Miss Bianca continued with her studies, and held their first show ''We''re Dancing'', in the June of 2004. The show was a huge success, and raised over 200 for the bereavement charity ''The Laura Centre''. After finishing college aged 17, Miss Bianca decided that her passion remained with teaching and set about expanding the Academy. More classes were introduced, branching out in local villages ''Quorn'', and ''Barrow Upon Soar''. The Academy continued to grow, and produced another show ''Shake your Body'', in the June of 2006, this time with a cast of 130, and a packed house! In 2007, Miss Bianca introduced the IDTA syllabus to Ballet, Tap and Freestyle classes, pupils took their very first exams in December 07, with every pupil gaining ''honours'', the highest acheivable level! The Academy continues to grow and flourish with Miss Bianca actively involved with everything from creating routines for shows and competitions , to helping fundraise for costumes and props. This August (09) will be the Academy''s proudest experience to date.. Miss Bianca, along with 35 dancers and 45 family members, will be taking BDA to perfrom at ''Disneyland Paris'', to a truly international audience! Classes are held throughout the week, and on saturdays at Rothley Village Hall, Quorn Village Hall, and Quorn Church Rooms. The Academy offers classes in Ballet, Tap, Funky Modern/ Street Dance, Musical Theatre & Acro. Pupils may do as much, or as little as they wish. The first ''trial'' class is free. Classes cater for children aged 2 1/2 to 16 + Miss Bianca is fully qualified (AIDTA), Insured and CRB checked.
