Did Nadhim Zahawi have a discussion with Izzi Seccombe about South Warwickshire COVID Tier

It has been reported in the Stratford Herald that;

“WCC Conservative leader Izzi Seccombe admitted that she had co-authored a letter sent to Health Secretary Matt Hancock on 22nd November asking to be considered alongside Solihull and Coventry”
source: Stratford Herald

It goes on quote WCC Conservative leader Izzi Seccombe.

“We had been given the indication we would be looked at on a regional basis as par of the West Midlands, which would have been terrible, at the time infection rates were in the 700s in some areas of the region.”

She goes on to say

“We were expecting that we would be put into Tier 2 measures, it was a shock to be put into Tier 3.”

The question is – Who gave them the indication that being grouped with Coventry and Solihull would have been better than grouped with the West Midlands?

Was there a discussion between Nadhim Zahawi and Izzi Seccombe or any other members of WCC

If so, I suspect they would have attempted to take all the credit had it resulted in South Warwickshire being in a lower COVID Tier

Funny how it’s all hushed up because the plan backfired
