SideHatch is a family run chandlery based on the Forth and Clyde canal in Scotland with many years experience of water activities, particularly inland waterways and sailing both here and abroad. We specialise in chandlery for canal boats and believe we are the only such specialists in Scotland. On the other hand we appreciate that we have many other types of biat user in our area and cater for yachts and motor boats also, particularly those based on and transiting the system. We particularly specialise in ropes, paints and fenders but supply many other items from lifejackets to books and charts We live and work on the Scottish Lowland Canal and use the system daily. This exposure to daily living afloat means we understand your requirements and difficulties. For example, if your water pump fails you “need a replacement yesterday” while you may need a mooring rope today or perhaps be planning for next season.
