am a professionally qualified BACP accredited Counsellor based in Abercynon and local to Rhondda Cynon Taf, Merthyr, Gwent and Cardiff areas. I have over 10 years experience in the counselling and Psychotherapy sector with Certificates and Diploma in counselling and Advanced Certificates in Transactional Analysis My theory base is Transactional Analysis, which offers a way of understanding personality, behaviour and relationships - its practice is firmly grounded in a respectful therapeutic relationship. I am an accredited member of the BACP and adhere to their Code of Ethics. I am committed to my own personal and professional development, regularly attending seminars, workshops and reading journals. Counselling provides a safe space and non-judgemental environment in which to explore troubling issues and ways in which to solve specific problems and/or live life more productively. My style is non-directive and client-led, drawing on different approaches where appropriate. Integrative counselling is flexible and aims to tailor treatments towards individual needs and personalities rather than fitting clients into one particular theory. I combine support with sensitive challenge, making a lot of use if exercises, imagery and creative techniques if appropriate.
